Research

The IEI is not only a graduate center providing advanced training for graduates, but also a comprehensive record in the fields of research and extension activities.

In the research area, the IEI has promoted studies and analysis furthering the integration of Latin America and its incorporation to the international system, focusing on multidisciplinary areas of international public policies, international systems, and global civil society.

The IEI's research concerning the law of the sea, security and conflict, international economic relations, comparative Latin American and Chilean foreign policy, non-government stakeholders and transnational civil society, is also widely recognized.

Although Latin America is the Institute's main regional research area, its researchers also choose North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
