Student of the Law Faculty participates in Programs about Korea

The third year student, Paulina Soto, from Faculty of Law of University of Chile, won two Scholarships Programs on Korean Studies.

Paulina Soto, a third year student of law school, was selected in the University Students Invitation Program in BRICs and Latin American Countries in the framework of "The Year 2010 University Student Invitation Program". The main objective of the Program is to invite undergraduate students, from different countries around the world to know South Korea for 10 days.

This program was organized by the National Institute of International Education (NIIED) Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of South Korea and many activities were carried out like courses about Korean history, economy and culture of that country, plus visit to important sites with cultural heritage and history and visit Universities to participate in meetings with Korean students.

Paulina Soto also won the 2011 Korean Studies Fellowships for Students from Latin America granted by the UCLA Center for Korean Studies at the University of California Los Angeles. This Project is part-funded project with the Academy of Korean Studies from South Korea and the purpose of this program is to provide students from Latin America with the opportunity to take courses on Korea in areas, primarily humanities, where coverage is not available in Latin America. The courses will be taken during the Winter Quarter period (January to March 2011).

Rectora socializa avances de la Universidad con unidades académicas

La Rectora Rosa Devés inició las visitas a las unidades académicas con el fin de compartir el resultado del Informe de Autoevaluación Institucional, donde se presentan los avances de la Universidad desde el proceso de acreditación pasado. La primera Facultad visitada fue la de Ciencias Forestales y Conservación de la Naturaleza, donde la Rectora, la prorrectora Alejandra Mizala y el vicerrector de Asuntos Académicos, Claudio Pastenes, se reunieron con el Consejo de Facultad. Estos encuentros abarcarán todas las facultades e institutos de la Universidad durante junio y julio.
